There’s something for everyone at the 71st Annual Chowan County Regional Fair, coming to the American Legion Fairgrounds in Edenton, NC, Sept. 26-30.
The Chowan County Regional Fair, a family-fun tradition sponsored by American Legion Post 40 will feature midway rides for all ages, from kiddie rides to thrill rides, racing pigs, the Mitchell Marionettes, live music, Heritage Farm displays, a train display, exhibits, contests, carnival games and a variety of favorite fair food.
Highlights include the Little Miss Pageant (6:30 pm Tuesday), Hog Showmanship Show (6 pm Wednesday), Southern Gospel Program (6-9 pm Thursday) and Miss Chowan County Regional Fair Pageant (6 pm Saturday).
Fair admission is $8 and free for children under 36 inches tall. Elementary and middle school students are admitted free with a paying adult on Tuesday, and K-12 students are admitted for half price on Wednesday and Thursday. Seniors ages 60 and older are admitted free on Thursday.
Saturday is Military Appreciation Day, with half-price gate admission and unlimited ride wristbands for active-duty military personnel with valid military ID and their immediate family members.
Ride tickets are $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. Rides take 3 or more tickets each.
Fair hours are 4 to 11 pm Tuesday – Friday and 11 am to midnight Saturday at 1317 W. Queen Street.
