The Berlin Freedom Fest, a family-fun festival July 3-7 at the Berlin Fairgrounds in Berlin, CT, features exciting sideshow acts under the big top, midway rides for all ages, a demolition derby on Friday, carnival games, favorite fair food, and fireworks displays Wednesday and Saturday at 9:30 pm.
Free festival admission includes the World of Wonders Show, starring sword swallowers, fire eaters, knife throwers, snake charmers, escape artists and other astonishing acts. Showtimes are 6 pm, 8 pm and 10 pm.
Unlimited ride wristbands (for riders 36 inches and taller) are available for $30 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Ride tickets are $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. Rides take 2 or more tickets each.
Demolition derby admission is $10 for spectators and $15 for entrants in advance. Visit the website for details.
Festival hours are 5 to 11 pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 4 to 11 pm Wednesday and Saturday at 430 Beckley Road. Event parking is $5.
