The Columbus County Agriculture Fair returns to Whiteville, NC, for its 39th year October 9 through 14 with Dreamland Amusements midway rides for all ages, the Amazing Anastasini Circus, live music, the Magic of Bob Bohm, motorsports, livestock shows, Old McDonald’s Farm, Flimsy the Clown, local entertainment, community exhibits, contests, carnival games and favorite fair food.
Fair highlights include The Dockers band (8:30 pm) on Tuesday; Tractor Pull (5:30 pm), Honey Don’t Band (8:30 pm) on Wednesday; Dancing with Queen Elsa & Princess Anna (5 pm), Band of Oz (7:30 pm) on Thursday; gospel music by Nadine and Stevie (5:30 pm, 6:30 pm), Demolition Derby (7 pm; $3) on Friday; Columbus County Schools Performing Arts (3:30 pm), Demolition Derby (7 pm; $3), Southern Just Us band (7:30 pm, 8:30 pm) on Saturday; and Talent Finals (2:30 pm) and Shades of Grey band (4 pm, 5 pm) on Sunday.
Fair admission is $8 for ages 6 and older. Specials include:
• $2 admission on Throwback Tuesday
• $4 admission and $14 unlimited ride wristbands on Thursday
• $30 per vehicle on Carload Sunday (includes admission and unlimited rides for all legally seated passengers)
Unlimited ride wristbands (for riders 36 inches and taller) are $18 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Ride tickets are $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. (Rides take 2 or more tickets each.)
Fair hours are 5 to 11 pm Tuesday – Wednesday, 3 to 11 pm Thursday – Saturday, and 1 to 10 pm Sunday at the Columbus County Fairgrounds, 886 Prison Camp Road.
